Die Antwort ...Hi, can you tell me, whether the genuine bushes for the gearbox need be reamed ?
If yes, what is the correct assembly clearence ? I bought some new bushes but they
are easily fit to the shaft or i.o.w. they have already a certain amount of clearence.
Thanks for answering.
Best
Ich poste das, damit wenn die Frage mal bei einer Überholung des Getriebes auftaucht aus erster Hand gleich beantwortet wird.Hello ,
1) The two sintered bushes (04.0062) in the sleeve gear are pre-sized and do not require reaming to size but after fitting they may not be exactly aligned. A reamer will correct this.
2) The layshaft 1st gear bush (04.0046) and the kickstart axle bush (04.0146) that we supply for spares use are also pre-sized to give correct fit without reaming once they are pressed into their respective component. Bushes made by pattern part suppliers may not be correct.....
3) The 2nd and 3rd gear bushes for mainshaft and layshaft respectively are floating bushes which means that they are not only free to turn on the shaft but are also free to rotate within the gear. Again, no reaming is necessary.
4) The bushes for camplate and selector quadrant need reaming (1/2”) after installation.
Best wishes,
Nick Hopkins
